Summer Lunch Program
by Margo Bader, Mission Outreach Coordinator In conjunction with the Good Neighbors in the Village, the Community Lunch Program this summer continues to need your help. Lunch is served Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to the children and families. The Seniors are served lunch on Wednesdays. Much help is needed in order to prepare, serve and spend time with those we serve, funds to purchase supplies for the outreach, and prayer support for the ministry and for those who we serve. The greatest need is for workers on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
Below is a list of specific needs that we have in order to provide 3 meals per week from June 7 to August 4 and once weekly for our seniors year round:
Help! Hands are needed to prepare the meal. Helpers usually arrive about 10:30 a.m. We are finished by 1 p.m. each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Cookies/Dessert for each meal are needed. Approximately 4 dozen cookies/servings are needed each day. Cookies can be baked ahead; we can freeze them if needed. Bring cookies to Christ UMC’s office any day before 3 p.m. or dropped off to the lunch workers Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
PR! Please spread the word about the Community Lunch Program that all are welcome and that help and support is needed for the outreach to meet the need.
Donations If you would like to make a donation to the Good Neighbors in the Village, checks should be made out to Good Neighbors in the Village with Community Lunch Program in the memo line. Contributions can be dropped off or mailed to GNIV c/o Christ UMC, 700 S. Main Street, Baltimore, OH 43105. Good Neighbors is a 501C3 non-profit so all donations are tax deductible.
