UMW Corner

by Terryann McCoy, Secretary

Calling all noodle makers, and willing hands!  Help on one day or on all the days scheduled:  July 8, 10, 15 and 17.  Work begins at 8 a.m. and late arrivers will be greeted joyously.

Rev. Claudine Leary will be the guest speaker for UMW Sunday in August.  Watch for the exact date.  You do not want to miss hearing her story.

During the June 13th business meeting, Linda Wilson gave a brief report about Annual Conference.  Helping fund Stoutsville Camp and VBS was discussed.  The luncheon to welcome Pastor Jeff and Kathy Smalley was planned.

Terryann McCoy was hostess and Lauren Crouse led the program on “Belonging.”  She had five New Testament scriptures read that were examples of hospitality and belonging in the early church.  Members were encouraged to write notes of encouragement and appreciation to special people.  Lauren had everyone draw their home to reflect how it shows hospitality and develops a sense of belonging.  You might enjoy trying that yourself!  She inspired us by playing recordings of “In the Eye of the Storm” and “The Church Has Left the Building.”

Join us in July for noodle making and on August 8th for our next regular meeting at 3 p.m. in the Sunrise Room at the church.  Linda Wilson will be hostess and Rhonda Miller will lead the program
